Pegasus On the Square Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

After hearing about this place from several people in town my family and I decided to stop in for dinner. We were happy with the food, and the prices weren't bad either. Our waitress was great and she took great care of our two little girls. She even brought us more chocolate mints for them after we were done. I definitely recommend!

A friend and I had dinner a few weeks ago while our wives had a "girls night out". Both had the rib eye steak and we agreed that it was the lousy steaks we've ever had. The steaks we relatively thin and that last difficult to keep from over cooking (and they were!). More importantly, the quality of the meat was the real complaint. Both of us had a huge pile of fat and gristle, about half of the entire steak. Furthermore, the half we tried eat was tough. Pegasus is still our favorite breakfast place, but dinner, not so much.

We really enjoy this local restaurant. Their food has always been very satisfying and fresh. It's a large restaurant, so it's good for a large group, families, but my hubby and I have gone there for date-nights too. I recommend it! ps--try their Caesar Salad w/ Grilled Chicken...YUM!

I'm sorry to say this once delicious local restaurant to Castle Rock has fallen off the radar. My last experience here was less than pleasurable for my taste buds and I have not returned. More importantly there is now a local outcry by local Castle Rock residents on social media complaining about the service, menu and quality of food. This restaurant once commanded the respect of local residents. Unfortunately the majority of the recent comments are less than flattering. Even those who have a fondness for this attractive little place are making statements and asking for reform. I even attempted to contact the restaurant suggesting they address these concerns on social media. To date, no one from management has even made any effort to communicate an interest in local comments. Very sad in deed. 8-/

I drove up from Monument one morning to grab breakfast with a friend. The place we intended to go was closed for renovations and Pegasus happened to be literally around the block. After our experience here I don't know that I have any reason to check out that first place. The restaurant's ambiance was really classy and I feared that the menu would also be expensive, my friend and I were pleasantly surprised to find that all the menu options were quite affordable. I ended up going with the Gyro Breakfast Plate - I've never had gyro meat for breakfast, but I definitely intend to going forward. This plate had a good amount of gyro meat, eggs to order, potatoes, tomatoes and onions, bread, and a delicious Tzatziki sauce. Wow! I can't wait to take my wife to Pegasus on a breakfast date. She is going to love it.

The breakfast is great but the service is awful. We had to hear about how busy they are and how our server hates being so busy and calls Sunday's 'Pegatory', we moved from the bar to a table and no one ever came to the table. The food runners brought our food and that was it. We had to go to the bar and ask for more coffee.

Fantastic burgers, Ruebens and French Dips. Nothing we have tried here has been bad.

What a great local place! We love going here for breakfast because there is always ample seating and good service. I recommend anything smothered in their green chili (especially the Western Quesadilla), but you can't go wrong with their thick, fluffy pancakes either! I would give five stars if they had better coffee.

Pegasus is a restaurant that has a little of everything on their menu. You can find something on the menu from pretty much any genre you are hungry for that day. I have been there twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. The breakfast menu had a lot of variety as noted above. I got an omelet with potatoes and toast. It was good food but certainly nothing to write home about. For lunch I got the fish and chips. Again, the food was good not great. Portion sizes were large. Service was good. The restaurant itself is neat as I believe it is in an old house. Overall, I would say it is a bit overpriced for what you get. It would be an excellent place to take a group though. The varied menu should allow everyone to find something they can eat.

A great spot right in downtown, historic, Castlerock. Food was great, ambiance was terrific but it all paled in comparison with the service and kindness of the staff, especially John who made us feel so very welcome. Go check them out, you will be glad you did.

Went this morning 02/19/15 with my girl friend. I had the 3 egg omelet with cheddar, gyros meat and green peppers. She had pancakes with a side of bacon. My omelet was well over cooked and there were surely not 3 eggs. Her pancakes were also over cooked. Server was mediocre at best only got 1 cup of coffee and never asked if I need a refill. Definitely will not return although it use to be our favorite Castle Rock restaurant.

Was hoping to find quaint, atmosphere, unique restaurant with good food and we surely hit one out of the ballpark when we stepped inside. Discounting that the hostess looked at our party of three with baby-in-carrier and asked if we needed a menu for the wee one, the wait staff was sharp, attentive and responsive. Excellent food. Gyro was perfection, best ever. You might skip ordering any special unless you are at peak-hour. We were after the Sunday brunch crowd and the Strawberry French toast was a bit soggy, like it had been sitting ... Green chili delicious and spicey. Excellent Greek salad. We sampled a variety. Overall great choice and different from typical diner or chain.

Great little place. I think it was an old church at one point, I'm not positive tho. Some of the seats are made of old church pews; very neat. They have something for everyone here. Greek gyros, Mexican burritos, American burgers. I always get something involving the Green Chili. It's so delicious! I would definitely suggest going for lunch, dinner does get a bit pricey & the menu is much smaller. I love the Mexican Chicken under the 'Mexican Dinners' section on the menu. It's grilled chicken breasts smothered in green chili. Amazing!!!! The green chili cheese fries are to die for & fajitas are a great choice too. The breakfast menu is very large as well. They have the standard breakfast items like pancakes, waffles & French toast. Then they have a build your own omelette, build your own burritos. Lots & lots of choices. I haven't eaten anything I dislike here, everything has been great.

Good service, adequate food quality & great location. For the name and the fusion cuisine offering it presents, it is an underwhelming experience overall. The inside setting could use some work, the menus feel pretty outdated & it's slightly hard to understand what is specifically unique about the restaurant. I had to Grecian plate and it had good flavor.

So the easiest way to find Pegasus is to look for a big techni-color winged horse in front of the restaurant on Jerry Street. This is probably different than the flying stallion that ancient Greeks had in mind, produced when Poseidon boned Medusa. It has a soda can for a tail. Seriously... a soda can. The inside of the restaurant has a better vibe. The place has decent salads and they serve American and Greek fast food. If you are hungry in Castle Rock this is not a bad way to go.

They do Greek and Mexican which is somewhat of a weird combination. I ordered off the Greek side and I was not overly happy with the food that I received. The gyro was bland and wasn't very memorable. I have to agree with P.T. on their review - it was spot on.

Great atmosphere, but meh service and food... I won't be going back and I suppose they are fine with that. They continue to do a brisk business for which I attribute to the lack of breakfast options in Castle Rock (I am typing this from IHOP, not exciting, but good service and dependable, consistent food). I have been numerous times because I enjoy the atmosphere, and like I said, lack of other options (I wish B&B was back!). The servers always seem extremely harried (perhaps they need to hire more). The last time I went was the last straw. My son's coffee cup had the obvious mark of the previous user: very dark and obvious lipstick. When we flagged down the server (dark haired lady who is there EVERY time we go), she joked "he probably didn't expect to have an intimate encounter with [girl's name] before he met her!" Wow, no apology, no comping the coffee, no ...nothin'! I like to dip my toast in the liquid egg yolk, so I ask that the toast not be hard and crumbly, but each time my toast is over toasted, even though I request it be slightly soft. The home fried (hash browns?) are a nice idea, but usually extremely crunchy. For the next couple of weeks, I'll just hold out until the new place in the old Dolce wine bar (by the owners of B&B) opens.

This is a great local breakfast and lunch restaurant with beautiful ambiance (impressive patio!), delicious food with generous portions, and excellent service. It's the perfect place to take out-of-town family and friends - I took my mother here last weekend for a late last minute Sunday brunch. Despite the facility being very busy and not having a reservation, we were still seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and so funny....he kept us laughing throughout our entire meal. The menu is ample and has a combination of Greek, Mexican, and American offerings, so there is something for mostly everybody. Overall, we had a great dining experience and this place even impressed my mother, who has a lot of dietary restrictions and is a little picky. The ONLY reason why I gave Pegasus 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish they would have more gluten-free and vegan selections (they had plenty of vegetarian) but our waiter did his best to accommodate our dietary needs by suggesting a few changes and substitutions to the menu.

It's been 2 years since I posted a review of Pegasus, and I thought I should update. "Pegs" is still my favorite Castle Rock Restaurant, no doubt. They have a new executive chef who has been coming up with some great evening entrees and appetizers. The "old standby" menu items are still available and as good as ever. The green chili is the best I've had in Colorado (and I've had a LOT of green chili). The bar is a great place to meet friends and chill out after work, there's a good range of beers on tap (from Stella on the light side to Guiness Stout at the other end of the spectrum). The mixed drinks are always good. Sunday Brunch is outstanding. There's always some sort of griddle special or a Quiche, and an old reliable favorite "Prime Rib Breakfast Burrito" smothered in that great green chili. Lunches are always good, the variety of good ol' comfort food, mexican and greek is a nice eclectic combination. I"m almost always there for Sunday brunch with a group of 8-12 (or more) people. I know that big groups are a nightmare for waitpersons to keep roganized, and the majority of the wait staff now do a great job for us. John and Janie (the owners) work their tails off keeping the place running smoothly and I applaud their efforts to improve over the last couple of years. And, ya, that's MY $1 bill taped to that green flag over the bar...

Very disappointed, again! We've given this restaurant several tries for both breakfast and lunch and they have yet to meet even average expectations. My husband and I ordered different breakfast plates today with "hash brown potatoes" which turned out being "country fries", and they were so cold that they tasted as though they came out of a refrigerator. They fixed the problem by placing the entire meal in a microwave and returning it to the table. The waitress never offered to refill our coffee and we politely asked three times and two different servers before we received a refill. The ladies rest room was less than desirable with no soap to wash hands. For such an attractive restaurant from outside their service and quality of food is totally disappointing. After giving them 4 tries we will giving other restaurants our business.

Order the Grecian Lunch Platter with a great variety sampler of all their Greek Specialties! Also get a side of dolmades (rice wrapped in grape leafs) they're delicious!

Went for breakfast today. I want I to give a better rating because I liked the server and the atmosphere. We did not have silver ware on or table and had to wait after we got or food to ask for it.My husband had the chicken fried streak and he enjoyed it. I had Jeans special. The pancakes and French toast were cold, butter did not even melt. Rest of my meal was OK. Server comped our meal. So it was a mixed bag got sure. We will go back again.

Come for the ambiance, location, and the giant breakfast burritos! My family and I like going to Pegasus for brunch. Besides the standard breakfast staples, they also have some Greek and Mexican items going on - interesting. My aunt from out of town really liked dining here and although service can be slow, the food is pretty cheap and you tend to have a beautiful view. Seat in the garden if you can, during summertime. It has large trees and a courtyard and tall wildflowers. In transitioning weather, try to get a seat in the back room where the fireplace is. This is actually our favorite. It is cozy and quiet and a great place to spend a lazy morning, talking and having breakfast with your loved ones.

This place is just kind of weird. Had a pasta with artichokes. The sauce was so sour and overpowering I didn't finish it. Too much lemon and artichoke and not enough pasta. The menu has a few things that are good...stick with simple dishes. But the variety...Greek, Mexican, and whatever else...just odd.

  • Veronica C.

I'm surprised this place averages at 3 stars. Perhaps because though the service can be slow, the service is friendly and the value of food combined with ambiance is very good, especially for the prices. Pegasus is very popular for Sunday brunch, and it's very pretty building with sections that keep the noise level down and make it seem a little more intimate. In the summer the courtyard has large trees and is sunny and beautiful. I can only rate their American food and breakfast, as I haven't had their Greek or Mexican options. The fish and chips are great, the french dip sandwich is awesome, and their eggs benedict is as good as any breakfast locale. I recommend it.

After eating here on 4 different occassions, I put thought into three stars: one of the best breakfast options in Castle Rock, dinner is so-so, as is service. Reasonably priced and good quality of flavors. Breakfast options range from safe - eggs & bacon your way - to creative. I have had the gyro & eggs, a unique and tasty option and the Chilladas - diced ham, eggs, wrapped in tortillas and smothered in green chile. The chile could have been spicier, but overall a satisfying and not overly heavy meal. Others in my group had the country breakfast burrito which is smothered in gravy - also a great choice. Because they have a gyro platter I have eaten here for dinner twice, as this is the only restaurant in Castle Rock that I can find gyros. Not terribly authentic, but fills my cravings. Otherwise, the dinner menu is good, but relatively generic. The wait staff is hit and miss. The staff has always been friendly, but often is spread thin. If you are on a time crunch, I would not recommend eating here. The breakfast crowd can get big and waits long, so come early. Setting is unique; an old building divided into different rooms with a small outdoor enclosed patio. Good for couples or groups.

Went there for a Sunday brunch/lunch. If you have never been there it's on a street in downtown where old houses have been converted to business's. The outside of the place is nice, has the old pueblo style look. As you walk in you encounter the reception area to the left and that is where mu first issue came up. They was no one there. Waiters and Waitress's walked by but no one stopped. After about 10min of waiting, and with the place maybe 60% full, the receptionist showed up and was finally seated. After seating the server showed up about 2-3 minutes later and took the drink order, which a promptly messed up. That was the end of the 1 star ding, no to the good parts. The food was very good. They offered breakfast and lunch and so we chose one of each, a Mexican breakfast and the Greek lunch. The food was amazingly good. The lamb would just melt in your mouth and the green chilies were fresh and prepared just right. This would be a nice place for a brunch/lunch and maybe eve date night. We will differently be coming back.

I recently visited Pegasus with a large group of ladies and we had a fantastic time. People arrived all at different times but the servers were on top of it and everyone got what they ordered how they ordered it and separate checks were not a problem. My gyro was fantastic and everyone else liked their choices as well. I will be coming back a little later in the summer when the back patio is open. Love it out there.

Lived in CR for 4 years and just discovered this place for breakfast. The chicken fried steak my husband ordered was great and I enjoyed my biscuits and gravy. I'm excited to come back for breakfast again and to check out the bar for drinks.

This was a fallback for Fourth of July brunch when the places we wanted to go were closed. The fact that they were one of the few places open in the area lets me overlook the sluggish service and especially the slow seating times (no wait to seat, just no host/ess at the front). The bacon was lackluster, the french toast nothing to write home about. The food overall was lukewarm and even cold in some cases. I don't think I would try here again, but frankly, if you are deciding on this review, you should give them a chance. It feels like my experience was sub-par due to the day/time.

American, Mexican, Greek, Mediterranean - All at the same restaurant. What's wrong with this picture? Nothing! This was our first time to Pegasus On the Square. The owner John met us at the front desk and after explaining the daily specials led us to our table and said our server would be right with us. He asked our names and referred to us by name the rest of the time we were there. He came by during our meal and we noticed that he spent time with all the guests there. Our server was friendly and prompt. The menu was definitely eclectic, but it was strangely balanced. My only gripe was that the wine selection was not as diverse as the food menu. I had the Grecian Lunch Platter and my wife had the French Dip. We could have ordered breakfast as they serve it until two. John later told me that the Souvlaki and eggs was very popular. The overall atmosphere was comfortable and quiet considering it was during a busy Friday afternoon lunch time. I did find it kind of strange eating a Greek lunch while looking at Western/Cowboy art. So, will we be back? Yes. As weird as it sounds, we liked the place and will make it a regular stop whenever we pass through town looking for a place to eat. Maybe we will try the huge breakfast burrito next.

I must admit I was skeptical at first glance at the Mexican/American/Greek (really?!) menu, but it turns out that Pegasus is a fun place for a large family gathering. From the treat-you-right margaritas (thank God for pint-sized glasses), to the eclectic menu, there really is something for everyone. Our large group took over the front room of the restaurant, and they took great care of us. The Bud declared his chili rellano one of the best he's ever had in the Denver area. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger and fries and (ahem) multiple margaritas. When the check arrived, the server was happy to split it for us, but thankfully we spared her that pain as we were a really big group. Still, I was impressed with her offer. I would definitely go back here to try other menu items and more of those lovely margaritas.

Fantastic food every time i've been. Breakfast is de-lish. Reuben's are top notch. Have always had a great experience with wait staff and bartenders. Some of the best made bloody marys and long islands in town. Great place to eat with the family any day of the week. Would recommend if looking for a place to go that isn't fancy shmancy but still has good quality food.

I go here for breakfast every time I'm in CO. I get the eggs, beans, and potato combo and stuff them all into a large-sized tortilla with a little salsa. What's not to like about that?

Just awful. I live in Castle Rock. I've been to Pegasus several times, and it has been getting progressively worse. Tonight was the end. The salmon was literally inedible. I've never had fish so bad. Hard, tough, I couldn't cut it with a fork and it tasted really bad, like rotten bad. I think it was very old to begin with and then overcooked to ridiculousness. Even worse was a bread stick served with the meal that had been microwaved for so long it was hard as a rock. I tried to bite it and my husband thought I was exagerating. I handed it to him and he couldn't even tear it with both hands. Our poor waitress, she tried to make it right, but the management would do nothing. That's not true, they offered a free piece of cheesecake, you know the kind you buy at the store in a Jello box and add water. That kind of cheesecake. I tolerate a lot and I don't normally complain, but tonight's $18 meal was truly unforgiveable for ANY restaurant. We will never go back.

Somewhat inconsistent in the quality of particular items, but there are many items they knock out of the park. The gyro plate is very tasty. My wife always seems to get one of the eggs benedict selections and is very happy. The reason we keep going back is for a great atmosphere and some of the best individual dishes in Castle Rock.

I have only tried the chicken taco salad, and they were most helpful in creating it with my diet in mind, with a few changes. Small menu of choices in the evening, but they let me have a salad from the lunch menu, because they really didn't offer one at night - which is odd. Nice atmosphere, & service, some of the dinner items a bit expensive. Unusual menu with Greek, Mexican and other choices - sort of odd to mix it up like that - so if you don't say, like Greek - and I'd prefer to go to a Mexican restaurant for Mexican - so not a lot of choices left. I'd have to try it at breakfast or lunch to really give this a rating.

Great for breakfast. Can't tell you about lunch or dinner. Ask for server Jeanette. A Joisey girl in the Rockies and a barrel of laughs . . . plus mighty good service. Her smile will win you over.

Man, what can be as weird as Mexican and Greek coexisting on the same dinner card! But it does and it works. I've been eating here since the old days when it was over on Wilcox Street. Nice, clean family-run, family-oriented restaurant. I love the ambiance and decor. And I enjoy their food, too. I think it's the only joint in Castle Rock where you can get a gyros. I think they do a good job with the chimichanga. They have a huge and tasty breakfast burrito, and one of my favorite lunches is the Grecian Plate. The bar is hit or miss as far as clientele, but the service (at the bar) is good. I've heard of other people having bad or slow service in the dining room, and I confess that there was this one time, long ago, when I experienced that, too. Long ago, isolated event, new (brand new) server. My other visits have been different.

Awesome food, atmosphere and service. Especially good for weekend breakfast. The salmon eggs benedict is amazing! Only complaint is that drink prices are pretty high on weekends... i wish they had brunch drink specials on bloody marys and mimoas.

Very surprised and disappointed by the low rating here. We love this place! Portion sizes are generous, and the food(especially breakfast)is wonderful. It`s a big place, so you can always get a seat. If the weather is nice they have a great outdoor patio as well. Don`t let the 3 star average discourage a visit. Really good, local cafe.

I have never been impressed with the service, but I continue to go back for the food. Unfortunately, today was my last straw. Not only did my waitress forget my hot tea, but she forgot my fiancé's order. Then, the manager had us move tables, and the table we moved from never got sat. When I told her about my service, she never apologized, but instead informed me that if the service was bad, they wouldn't be in business. Really? All you had to do was apologize. Don't waste your time on this place if you like to be treated like your business matters.

I have just moved to Castle Rock, and my dad and I decided to explore our new town. We went into Pegasus looking for a good breakfast, and boy, did we find it. I ordered the Jean's Combo with the hashbrowns, link sausage, fried egg whites (the server said it would be $3 extra, but she'd put it in the Server Menu to save us money), and the awe-inspiring French toast. The hashbrowns were tasty, not too greasy, the egg whites were perfectly salted, the sausage was wonderful, and OMG the French toast was amazing. I have no idea how they make it, but it is certainly the piece-de-resistance. So yummy. Best French toast I've ever had. My dad ordered a make-your-own-omelet, with egg whites, gyro meat, and avocado with wheat toast. He said the omelet was delicious, and I tried some of the wheat toast with marmalade (I LOVE marmalade, and love when a restaurant supplies it) and the toast was so good. It tasted homemade. Very light and fluffy. I was very impressed with the building. From the street, you would have no idea how big it is on the inside. Very roomy, I love the art-deco feel. I'm in love. Our server was a very sweet lady, Jeanette. Tried really hard to save us money with our egg-white obsession. She didn't hover, but I was never without water. All in all, I was very happy with my Pegasus experience.

I REALLY want to like this place more than I do. The owners are among the most friendly, wonderful people in the world. The building is gorgeous, large, clean, and the patio is amazing. The menu is large and diverse. All the pieces are there for a great restaurant. But the bottom line is the food. There's not much use having nice bar, friendly owners, and large portions if the food is mediocre. I've been here several times for different reasons (private parties, brunch, lunch, dinner) and I've consistently been disappointed by the food, which is generally bland and lacking in flavor. The veggie burger tastes like nothing and the patty crumbles the minute you touch it. The chips and salsa would be good except that the salsa tastes like watery tomato juice. I can see the jalapenos and cilantro but can't taste them in the salsa at all. The hash browns are nice and crispy and sliced thick (not into greasy strings like other places) but the green chili is less than mild. The salads are ok but you might as well just go to King Soopers and slice up the veggies yourself for much less than $9. Don't be fooled by the apparently large menu, either. For example, the only difference between the huevos rancheros, huevos montelenos, and breakfast burrito is the kind of tortilla the ingredients are served in/on. It's just like Chiptole saying you can make "thousands" of meals based on like five ingredients by combining them different ways. It's the same eggs, green chili/salsa, and hash browns just served in either flour or a corn tortilla. Given that the markup is pretty hefty ($6.95 for French toast, $4.95 for a cinnamon roll, and $4.50 for a Red Bull, $2.50 for a cup of coffee), it would be worth it if the food tasted better than what you could make at home. Unfortunately it doesn't. Not to be indelicate but I suspect that the food is intentionally a little bland to cater to the majority of the clientele that probably prefers their food mild and not too overpowering. The service is hit or miss. There are times there's no one at the host stand. The host or owner will usually eventually greet you and be very friendly about it but it's still pretty unprofessional to leave guests waiting for too long without being greeted. There are servers who are nice enough but ditzy as hell. One was very nice but, at an hour with only two other tables in her section, she didn't bring my water for more than five minutes after asking me what I wanted to drink. So, basically, my point is that friendliness and good intentions only go so far. A restaurant is only as good as its food and service, both of which are unfortunately subpar. Notice that if you scroll down, the people who actually comment on the quality of the food (usually commenting how middle-of-the-road it is) or the service (nothing to write home about) are the ones giving this place 3 stars or less. All the 4 and 5 stars reviews say things like "big portions!" or "beautiful garden!" or "cool logo!" I'm sorry but if you want nice scenery, go to the park. A big plate of bland food doesn't make up for the fact that the food is bland.

It's not horrible, but definitely not great. I had a mexican combo plate with an enchilada, beef burrito and chilie relleno. The chilie relleno was really good but the second you cut into it you could see the oil from frying it pour out on the plate. The beef was just gross, it tasted like it had been marinating in overwhelming seasoning for the past week. And the enchilada was fine but their red sauce wasn't good. The canned stuff you get at the grocery store is better. I also had a lemonade that was pretty bad, there was so much mix in my glass that I was practically chewing it. I'm not usually a picky eater and I like most things, maybe I just had a bad experience this time. I've been there once before years ago and I don't remember it being this bad. Other people I was with said the french dip was delicious and so was the fish and chips. Maybe next time I'll steer clear of the mexican.

I eat breakfast here a lot. Service is usually prompt and friendly. I haven't found a favorite on the menu, but everything I've had is good. My husband gets the Jean's Combo everytime, the french toast is tasty. Overall, a very nice place to have breakfast!

Mexigreek? Hmmmm ok. This is Colorado. I thought they could use some greek music. The place is pretty loud with out it thuo. The coffee is weak, skip it. The prime rib burrito was big and looked delicious. I had the gyro breakfast it was average. The kids pancake breakfast was $6.00....not exactly a great value for one pancake. My water remained empty for half the meal. I will probably try some other place next time we need to rendezvous in Castle Rock.

Very good breakfast but a bit overpriced. Breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls, tropical pancakes are delicious!

It's eclectic atmosphere of personalities with great breakfast & lunch selections at down home prices makes it my Sunday brunch place to be. Sunday brunch is very popular for many locals who come in mass with their families in tow. As such, street parking is a challenge @ times & often I've got to park across the street in the municipal parking.

This is a good non-chain in CR. Good food, casual atmosphere, easy to take the kids. It's all about the green chile for me really. It is good and hot, with lots of pork. Oh the Huevos Rancheros! The refried beans are awesome and the potatoes crispy and good, too! The portion is huge, and worth every penny. I like the mexican food here-and eat a combo burrito smothered in green almost every time. The fries are skin on, and yummy!

Hard to mess up fish and chips, but very ho hum and no coleslaw! Salad had brown leaves in it. Bass ale first one was flat next one better but they obviously didn't drain the line. Others in our party sprung for pasta dishes that didn't match the $17 price. Odd menu. Waitress was ok. We liked breakfast here before so were very disappointed in this dinner experience.

LOVE their mexican food - have been going there for over 15 years! Greek food is very good too and I'm a fan of their hot wings - great sauce and they are crispy instead of slimy. Really cool building and great bar area - some of the seating benches are old church pews.

Pegasus is a little hard to find if you don't know what your'e looking for, or arriving after dark. Once I found it, the food was not great, but not bad. I had a salad and a burger, both middle-of-the-road. I've heard the gyros are great, but I haven't had one. The setting was charming - it feels like someone's old ranch house that they converted. There are several rooms each with slightly different feels.

I was impressed. First off, we were greeted by the owners wife. She asked if we dined there previously, and when we told her no, she gave us a tour of the facility. As we were walking around, we were able to see others choices of food. Everything looked and smelled,,, Fabulous! it was a difficult decision, but I decided to try the Gyro. The meat was very good, but the sauce was different than I am used to but still very tasty. I would order it again! I was very excited to see the breakfast menu, and to know it is served until 2pm. They serve home fries!!! finally a place that knows how to make and serve them! The atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant was nice. I am excited to return with my husband and daughter.

This restaurant sits off the beaten trail of Wilcox and is set back, making it a tad hard to find. Walking in to meet some girls for breakfast it's seat yourself on a Friday morning. Walking back to the patio the first thought in my head "Whens the last time they cleaned?" Dust and dirt covered tables and chairs, with a few spiderwebs attached. I was afraid to lean back in my chair to avoid getting dirt on my black polo. When the waitress came no tiding up took place. At the end of the visit she was personable, but at the beginning she reminded us of the bitchy stuck-up cheerleader we all knew back in high school. It's on the menu are a mix of American, Greek, and Mexican. Saying that, I'm not sure if I'd want gyro meat or baklava in my omelet. Most items appeared to be reasonably priced. Make your own omelet at 7 something dollars with the addition of three items from the meat, cheese and veggie list. Ask for egg whites and you'll feel $2.50 leave your pocket. Rather have fruit then hash browns.. there's another $0.95. My egg white bacon tomato monetary jack omelet cost me 11 bucks. At least it took up the entire plate. There was so much bacon inside I could hear a little pig squeal. The other plates at my table consisting of french toast and a breakfast burrito the size of my purse had no complaints. Maybe I'll be back... but just maybe.

I dined here with my boyfriend and his family on a Saturday evening-- the company was great, the experience left something to be desired. When I first looked at the menu, it was slightly overwhelming. Not because it was a huge menu, but because there were American, Mexican and Greek options. Which confused me a bit -- I'm a-okay with a restaurant having different cuisines, but the ambiance did NOT match the food whatsoever. The stucco building looks tiny from the outside, but once you enter it is a sprawling restaurant decorated with warm colors and wooden beams and floors, the tablecloths made of vinyl (if I remember correctly) but then the front rooms seemed more Asian inspired. The patio looked enchanting... more of a courtyard with charming twinkly lights around the trees and cute little tables. I'd like to eat out there on a summer evening! The beau and I shared the Grecian Platter and Fish & Chips. The meat on the Grecian platter was delicious, but whatever was wrapped in the grape leaves almost made me gag! My boy told me it was, "rice and stuff" so I took a little bite expecting "rice and stuff" and was sadly surprised. Not that this reflects the restaurant whatsoever, just a terrible experience for me! The fish and chips were extremely greasy and heavy. I normally eat pretty healthy, and after that dinner I felt like I gained 10 lbs and took 5 years off my life. All in all, the food wasn't bad, per se -- I think I would give it another shot because they do have quite a decent spread of food, but the atmosphere was BIZARRE! I honestly just did not know what to make of the place. Our server was dressed nicely in all black, but the bubbly teenage food runner was wearing bedazzled jeans. Peculiar. Also the restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night, and since I've worked in a restaurant for years, empty food joints on weekend nights is not usually a good thing. Even as I write this review, I still have one eyebrow raised just questioning that entire experience... To top it all off, the soundtrack was 80's music. I sang Hall & Oates, J. Geils Band and Madonna all throughout dinner :D

We live in Parker but we drive to Castle Rock if we are in the mood for a great breakfast. I get the Gyro Breakfast and my husband likes the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. The potatoes are amazing and don't leave without having a supremely good Bloody Mary! We usually bring our kids here and have had a few big family dinners here as well. There is a lot of variety in the menu and everything is always very tasty. The staff is friendly and we look forward to our next meal there!!

Good ambiance, but so-so food. This former church definately has a charm about it, and the waitstaff tend to be friendly. The menu features items like gyros that are difficult to find at other restaurants in Castle Rock, but I wouldn't highly recommend this restaurant nevertheless. The staff are sometimes disorganized, but worse than the logistics is the food. Think french fries frozen in a bag and hamburgers in a pre-processed disk. Nothing I've tried on the menu rises above the quality level of roadside diner. If you're looking for more charm, quality and sophistication in the menu, I'd instead recommend "The Old Stone Church" or "Augustine Grill", both within a couple of blocks.

Their french toast is dampening, some of the best I've ever had, the location is amazing, and the building is beyond iconic for Castle Rock. Very friendly, warm, great for cold winter mornings or warm spring or summer afternoons. Intimate without being claustrophobic.

It was ok. generic food. Nothing really greek about it except a Gyro and a greek salad or something. Wouldn't recommend this place.

So, when I was young and foolish, I took a job down Castle Rock way. Pegasus had just moved to their new location, and one of my coworkers brought me there for lunch. She (an institution in the town) introduced me to the owner. John greeted me by name every single time he saw me in the place after that. Now I'm older and more foolish and I live in Sunny California. While it doesn't snow here, nobody greets me by name and admonishes the servers to treat me right when I go in and order a patty melt or bacon and eggs or waffles or a salad with a side of fries or an enchilada combo -- all of which are excellent. Call ahead if you're bringing a big group (6+) and they'll take care of you. Carpool, though, as there is limited street parking. Make your way around the south side to the patio during the warmer months. If you aren't eating at Pegasus, you should be. Have some fries for me.

It was okay for a fancy restaurant. It has a very nice atmosphere, it was such a nice day that we sat outside on the shaded patio. The food was okay. I had a ham, cheese & mushroom omlet that was tasty. I enjoy hash browns but theirs are over cooked and takes away from the breakfast experience. I had a very good Arnold Palmer. I could see some of the other dishes pass by and the onion rings and taco salad look real good.

If you're looking for a good, local, casual restaurant, try Pegasus. Their menu is quite varied and their prices are reasonable. We dine there often and always enjoy it. Try their Patty Melt... a bit greasy but delicious. Give Pegasus a try - I think you'll enjoy it.

Best Huevos Ranchers in all of Castle Rock and perhaps the WORLD! Pegasus is a hometown staple in Castle Rock. Serving Mexican, Greek and American food. My husband and one of my sons always order the Gyros. I don't care for them, but they love them. My 8 year old is considered a Pitaist. What he does with his pita bread and gyros and fixings, is art indeed. I would say that I eat at Pegasus at least 1 time a week and many weeks 2 or 3 times and I have not had the experience that Jared G has had. The owner, John, once chided me for being on my cell phone while waiting for a table to be available. (I was WAY back away from the host stand and listening to a conference call, not speaking at all) He was in fact very rude to me. I vowed never to spend another dime there. But... the Huevos sucked me back in. As much as I am in his store with my family and friends, the man still has never spoken to me again. Writing this makes me want to stop going! But... I can't give 'em up. Must have Huevos. HA!

We love this restaurant but the food is going down hill. Typically I give a place a couple of times to correct themselves but last night deserves a note. Service was good, but when we asked for a manager we got another wait person. We'd seen the manager or owner around and were disappointed he never stopped by. First, the clam chowder came curdled! OMG, I can't believe someone would send that out of the kitchen. Next, we had the strip steak with crab and Bearnaise sauce. There must of been over a cup of it on top of the steak, which was cooked medium well, not medium rare as requested. The sauce had separated and looked disgusting. We scraped the sauce off and asked for some new. When it came, it was the same broken sauce we got on our plates. Both items were taken off our bill, but unfortunately we left a little on the hungry side. Last year you'd find this restaurant packed on a Friday night, but not this week. 7PM found the dining rooms sparsely populated.

So, named after a mythical creature (and a real one at that), located in the heart of HAPPENIN' Castle Rock, Colorado + I've had AT LEAST 2 friends work here. And they serve a special combination of Greek and Mexican food. Really, do I need to list more reasons? Oh! I think I worked here too...once...briefly...(ovbiously).

Loved it. Went there with a large group (about 50-60) and had the whole patio reserved for us. The all-you-can-eat Greek buffet was delicious and both the buffet staff and the waitresses were attentive and genuinely nice. The beer was a little pricey, but it was a small price to pay (pun intended) for such an inviting atmosphere and excellent food. We couldn't have had a better time. Thank you, Pegasus!

We eat here whenever we go to castle rock. Normally it's really tasty. Today I tried breakfast which was big mistake. Never again! French toast was pathetic. Eggs overcooked and overpriced. I'm sticking with thr regular lunch or dinner menu next time. Hubby likes the Greek food. Ps don't expect excellent service. Never ever happens as you will constantly ask for refills. But service is almost always friendly.

This place is adorable - great atmosphere and cool setting with rustic old pees, giant marble bar and wooden floors. Really great setting with tasty food to boot. They have a really great green chili that gets spread all over a variety of breakfast dishes - the burrito is very good. Wife got the Mexican omelette with green chili strips and smoothed in homemade green chili (very good). This is our first time here but it won't be the last next time we are in the area. Highly suggest giving it a go for some breakfast.

People are crazy if they write bad reviews for this place. Look, it serves tasty food and offers good bar selection. Is it fine dining, no, but it is consistent and doesn't take itself too serious unlike some of the Yelp reviewers. You will always get a good meal at a reasonable price. Go for it!

Castle Rock is a little light on culinary cuisine, if you know what I mean. I do have to give a little love to this joint. Nothing fancy and nothing quick, but after a night of beatin up my liver I wouldn't mind sliding into a slow breakfast. Don't sit up front unless you're doing the kids thing. Trust old Jerome- head in back and get your relax on. I usually stay away from specials, cause they usually ain't special, but Pegasus throws something nice out on the chalk board up front.

Good food, service and atmosphere. Not great but good. We had the rib eye and prime rib. Caesar salad was great. I hear breakfast is amazing so we will come back for that. I love how many choices they have on their menu so maybe we will try again and with a burger next time. Worth a visit.

This place gets me in a mix of sorts. I love that its a small business, serves ok food, allows dogs on the patio, has a good mix of food, etc.... BUT, the service is always lacking and the food, though they have a good mix, should be narrowed down to one thing they are good at, not 100 things they are mediocre at. I visit there because its handy, and not overly expensive, but I get what I expect, and I dont expect much from this place. One thing of note, not pertaining to the food or service. We once called the owner about donating a gift card for a particular charity event. The owner was crass and rude, and by far the least helpful person we have encountered in organizing these events. It appears he doesnt have the same community feel that a lot of other small Castle Rock business' do, and therefore, Ill likely patronize them over him in the future. Karma.

This place seems very confused as to what kind of restaurant it is. They serve Greek, American, Mexican and Italian dishes. Although the name Pegasus may seem like the Greek food would dominate the menu you would be mistaken. They have about 3 Greek items, a handful of American and Italian and mostly Mexican. The food is OK but nothing memorable. Probably won't be back.

Not a bad little place. Came here to meet family from all over, and everyone found food that sounded good to them. A wide range of menu choices, from soups and salads to sandwiches and Mexican food. The waitress was very nice, and checked on us enough but not too often. I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food, it felt cheap and thrown together out of a tub. I would have liked it more if it was more homemade.

Great restaurant. The food is outstanding from breakfast to Mexican to Greek. They really are awesome. The staff is amazing and the ownership is committed to doing the right thing day in and day out. Can't say enough - this place is a winner.

I have been eating at this restaurant for a few years and never have I had a bad meal! The wait staff, hostess and owners have always been extremely curious and attentive. I love the outdoor seating where I can bring my dog and enjoy the Colorado sky. I particularly enjoy the Greek Gyros and eggs and their homemade green chili on their Breakfast Burritos. So far everything I have had here was really good. The breakfast is fantastic, get there early or you will wait. The food was fresh and hot. I have had a variety of meals and I am a big fan. I will be back!!!! The waitress we had, Molena, is so nice and friendly and she runs... She makes the experience even better... Thank you Molena... not sure if I spelled your name correctly... I will try to get your section whenever I go.

The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is the fact that I've had great brunches here. For the first time, we had dinner here. And it ruined this family gathering place for me. The waitress seemed less than enthused to be there and though she wrote things down, our orders were mixed up and she seemed confused about it. She kept referring to her notes, as though we were the ones confused, rather than helping. I ordered the ribeye with shrimp. I only got to eat 3/4 of it due to the poor cut. It was incredibly thin. Cooked to order, so... yay? The shrimp couldn't have been fresh. All three of them. Glad we paid over a dollar per shrimp. My sweet potato fries were burned to a crisp with chunks of fried mystery batter mixed in. Our orders of sweet potato fries and regular fries were mixed up, even though there were only three orders with fries. When the waitress went to fix the problem, she took my husband's burger back with her- didn't even leave it and bring a new plate. When she did finally bring a new plate of fries, she apologized for the wait and said it was because they had to open a fresh bag of frozen sweet potato fries. Did everything come out of a bag? Because it kind of tasted like it. At least the new fries were the right color- not burned to black. Also, thanks for confirming that I got bottom of the bag crappy fries. Most of the table's food was lukewarm at BEST. Except for the children's meals, which were nuclear. Apparently they had to wait for the imitation Kraft macaroni and cheese to finish cooking. I wish I was kidding. I'm pretty sure their mac and cheese was Walmart value brand. My daughter wouldn't eat it, and she loves the treat of mac and cheese. One in our party didn't get her drink- the only one who ordered anything besides water. My mother, who complains about very little, could not excuse how terrible her salmon tasted. I'm sad that this place was so awful tonight. I was excited to come because it's been so reliable and awesome for breakfasts/brunches. This was one of the only times I've left a restaurant still hungry. We will find a different gathering place for my family from now on. I would have requested to speak with a manager had I not had a child on the verge of meltdown.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
